All Dutch artists performing today

Amber Arcades

Dream Pop / Indie Pop

Hotel Vegas

March 16 // 9:30pm — 10:00pm

Amber Arcades is the nom de plume of Annelotte de Graaf, a Dutch experimental pop musician. De Graaf is a chameleon who reinvents herself with every album, drawing inspiration just as easily from experimental pop music as from the music of the American folk tradition. Her music is characterised by poignant melodies, dreamy vocals and reflective lyrics.

Pol

New Wave

The Iron Bear

March 16 // 10:00pm — 10:40pm

Dutch siblings Ruben Pol & Matthijs Pol are bringing back New Wave – 2022 saw the release of multiple singles, of which the first one was ‘Comme Ça’. Written, performed and produced by Ruben and Matthijs, and mixed by Dave Boscombe (Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Erasure), ‘Comme Ça’ is an affecting slice of new wave - replacing digitally produced sounds for analog synths and drum machine samples. Disconcerting and complex.

Ruben and Matthijs both resonate strongly with the high-fashion industry, modeling for various fashion houses (Saint Laurent, Gucci, Fendi, Valentino, Dior, to name a few) as well as producing music for some.

The Mauskovic Dance Band

Cumbia / Space Disco

Flamingo Cantina

March 17 // 12:00am — 12:40am

The family that plays together stays together, as the old saying goes, and the Mauskovic Dance Band play like they’re in each other’s pockets 24/7. If you’re encountering Nicola Mauskovic, Donnie Mauskovic, Marnix Mauskovic and Mano Mauskovic for the first time, well, to be clear they’re not a literal family. On the flipside, this Amsterdam-based group can claim a collectively cosmopolitan background that informs their suave, agile post-punk funk workouts. Bukaroo Bank, their second album for Swiss label Bongo Joe, finds the Mauskovic Dance Band reinventing both their approach and their sound, while maintaining the rhythm-forward euphoria heard on their debut album and surrounding singles.

Fuse

New-Classical

Esther's Follies

March 17 // 12:00am — 12:40am

With their bold approach to string music and exciting stage presence, Fuse is a one-to-watch formation on the cutting edge of Dutch musical life. The Amsterdam-based sextet performed over 1000 shows at a wide range of concert halls and festivals in The Netherlands and abroad. Utilizing their signature line-up (a string quartet with double bass and drums) the six musicians are able to evolve from their classical and jazz roots, and bring a unique sound and style to the stage. Both improvised and written music are organically part of the band's energetic live sets; technically complex but catching crossover performances.

Enjoy SXSW!
