Dutch producers and songwriters wanted for a creative mission to Tokyo, Japan

In collaboration with Soepermarkt Publishing, the Dutch Embassy in Japan, and various Japanese partners, Dutch Music Export is organising an exclusive writing camp in Tokyo. This four-day programme is specifically designed for Dutch producers and songwriters with clear ambitions for the Japanese market.

  ABOUT THE PROGRAM

During this intensive week, you'll take part in curated writing sessions with Japanese artists, producers and professionals. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking events, market exploration, and sync-related activities.

Additional networking and presentation moments will also take place, in collaboration with local partners such as CEIPA (Culture & Entertainment Industry Promotion Association), the organisation behind the Music Awards Japan 2025 in Kyoto.

Founded in 2023, Dontaku Records represents a new wave of cross-cultural collaboration between the Netherlands and Asia. With strong roots in both Amsterdam and Tokyo, Dontaku connects culture and community through the laid-back, joyful sound of ‘Dontaku’ — a Japanese word derived from the Dutch ‘zondag’, still associated in Japan with rest, enjoyment, and holidays.

By building bridges between Dutch and Japanese artists through genre-blending releases, writing camps and international showcases, Dontaku aims to spotlight Asia’s creative potential and foster long-term collaborations that help shape the global sound of tomorrow.

EPIGRAM is a Tokyo-based cultural project agency operating across the fields of art, music and urban development. They connect culture with tourism and entrepreneurship, working with both local governments and international partners. With extensive experience in developing projects in cooperation with municipalities, ministries, and other public institutions in Japan, EPIGRAM plays a key role in creating meaningful cultural initiatives.
