As a 19-year old, Thomas Azier left from a northern Dutch village to Berlin to find his own path in music. A few years later his debut album ‘Hylas’ was released. After extensive touring Thomas moves to Paris to record and release his album ‘Rouge’. Both albums are awarded with an Edison award (prestige Dutch music award).
The music on his latest album Stray (2018) was composed and produced fully on the move, a travel that took him from Kyoto to Abidjan, Paris, New York, Berlin and back to the Netherlands. The tension of constant travel had an interesting effect on Thomas’ creativity and changed the writing and production processes in his head and on his computer. This resulted in the fact that the entire album was recorded and created on his laptop with an USB microphone in several hotels and short term rental flats.
